MADventure: The Blood Mine Strike (APL 5)

Storyline

Mokomath, a Tiefling priest of Asmodeus, uses his worldly riches to tempt mortals to sign their souls over to Asmodeus. His primary victims are those down on their luck, and he preys on them by promising them riches if they give their heart and souls over to his fiendish master. In order to keep the flow of poor souls steadily incoming, Mokomath is always in need of more riches and treasures to tempt the unfortunate with. Recently, he has set his sights on the bloodstones from the Blood Mines.

Aided by a gang of devils and mud mephits, Mokomath took over a section of the Blood Mines and drove off the miners that laboured there. Few miners escaped, and those who didn't were slain. Mokomath has a Xorn ally he uses to sniff out more bloodstones in the mine complex while also serving as a powerful guardian. In return, it is fed a small portion of the gems as a reward for its services. Mokomath is using a group of enslaved Duergar he acquired on a different venture to mine the Bloodstones.

Now, the mineworkers have refused to return to the mines in fear of what now resides there and have gone on strike until ther higher-ups find a solution for the threat. They have vowed not to step one foot inside the mines until the dangerous occupants have been dealt with.

Xiang Ling enterprises, the multi-national conglomerate that owns the Blood Mines, is now seeking an adventuring group to reclaim the section of the mines that was take from them. Every day that the strike continues, they lose hundreds of gold inm profits. Gao Liang, the local representative for Xiang Ling Enterprises, doesn't know who or what is responsible for the issue, but is depserate to resolve the problem before his superiors fire him and find someone who can.
