The Decayed Laboratory is a 5e standalone adventure module for Foundry VTT, suitable for a group with an average player level (APL) of 8. It has been designed to serve as an independent short adventure spanning several sessions, or can be inserted into a pre-existing campaign by renaming several minor highlighted regions or characters!

"Far to the north sits the city of Stalyovsk. Only the hardiest of people can survive in its harsh environment; merit and ability are all that matter. The city has a practice of exiling those who cannot measure up to the exacting standards demanded of their land, a practice that shall return to haunt them. Some winters ago, Ivazov Tarasovich, Lord of Stalyovsk, exiled his son, Irodor, for his ineptitude in the mines and battle. Few words were spoken that day, as all knew that Irodor possessed a great aptitude for magic, but the law was clear. He could no longer be a drain on Stalyovsk if he could not contribute.
After being exiled, Irodor did the one thing he could: he retreated to his secret mountain laboratory. Hidden deep underground, he continued his arcane experiments. He transformed all manner of creatures, gradually gaining both power and skill until one day, he was even able to turn humanoids. Eventually, the harsh cold of the north took Irodor's life – but instead of remaining dead, he awoke as one of his own creations.
Though he remains hidden within his laboratory, Irodor commands fear throughout the countryside. Miners are preparing to revolt within Stalyovsk as more go missing by the day. Meanwhile, the threat continues to grow as Irodor's power grows. A call to adventure has been sent to the lands, and the people of the north await the day heroes may arrive."
